Lord Southmere, geheimagent in dienst van Hare Majesteit, heeft een geheime formule, de Lotus X, in handen weten te krijgen. Achtervolgd door de Chinese geheime dienst komt hij verkleed als boer, na talrijke omzwervingen in Azië, uiteindelijk in Londen aan. Daar springt hij in een taxi en merkt al snel dat hij in handen van Hnup Wan en diens handlanger Quon is gevallen. Zij willen de formule weer terug. Lord Southmere weet echter te ontsnappen en zoekt zijn toevlucht in het Nationaal Historisch Museum. Hij verstopt de microfilm in een dinosaurus en slaagt erin, vlak voordat hij weer door de Chinezen gegrepen wordt, zijn oude kinderjuffrouw Hettie in te lichten. Zij moet de formule in handen zien te krijgen voordat de "anderen" hem hebben kunnen dwingen zijn mond open te doen... Een heerlijke komedie vol grappige scènes.
